Brad McCorkle from Local Eye Site joins the show to discuss his view that in order to compete for the best talent in the marketplace, employers should view recruitment advertising for what it really is –advertising. According to McCorkle, “Just as advertisements featuring products or services are designed to drive customers to a business, advertising open positions should be focused on capturing the attention of top candidates. And just as companies also focus on building “brand awareness” with their customers, they should be doing the exact same thing is it relates to their “employer brand.” Every organization has an employer brand, whether they know it or not, and it is important that this becomes an asset they can feature in recruitment advertising, not an afterthought.”
