From High Turnover to High Retention: The Staffing Strategy Your Practice Needs with Lynn Lawrence
Hiring good staff is hard. Keeping them? Even harder.
Staff turnover, burnout, and lack of reliability and engagement are part of a challenge that most practices face today: an ever-present staffing puzzle.
It’s a cycle of constantly training new hires, only to lose them within months — leaving doctors and managers scrambling to fill positions. But what if you could break the cycle?
Enter Lynn Lawrence, a staff development expert who has spent years helping practices turn employees into leaders. With decades of experience, Lynn has developed training systems that transform high-turnover workplaces into thriving, engaged teams, revealing why most hiring approaches set employees up for failure — and how a simple mindset shift can turn short-term hires into long-term assets. Staffing Strategy
Most practices hire for the job, not the future. That’s a problem, according to Lynn. He explains why every new hire should come with a “What’s Next” plan; a structured roadmap that keeps employees engaged, accountable, and constantly growing. Providing staff with responsibilities creates buy-in. And that’s what keeps them from leaving. Staffing Strategy
Lynn also shares why a structured 18-month development program is the key to retention, and how building a system where employees self-audit their work can increase performance and reduce management headaches. Practices that apply these strategies see higher staff satisfaction, lower turnover, and a team that runs itself.
High staff turnover doesn’t have to be inevitable. With the right hiring strategy, structured development plans, and leadership training, you can build a team that stays engaged, committed, and continuously growing. If you’re ready to create a workplace where employees feel valued and invested in their future, this episode will show you exactly where to start. It’s not about finding the perfect employees — it’s about understanding how to create them. Staffing Strategy
