Ian Whipple, OD

Scientifically curious even at a young age, Dr. Ian Whipple is the owner and optometrist at Vision Source of Farr West and Vision Source of South Ogden. He graduated from Utah State University and received his doctorate of optometry at The Ohio State University. Dr. Whipple has received the Best Practices Award 2019.

His primary clinical focuses are in specialty contact lenses, dry eye, and advanced macular degeneration management. He also embraces aesthetic optometry including lid lump/bump removals and botox injections. Dr. Whipple is a regular contributor to Review of Optometric Business.

Dr. Whipple loves working with colleagues to improve the patient experience. He believes firmly that the evolution of optometry should be directed by optometrists, rather than outside entities. He hopes to empower doctors to pursue a more meaningful work/life balance.

He and his wife Taunya are happy to make Utah their home. They are the parents of two children, Grant and Gwen.

Dr. Whipple is a passionate musician who plays the piano and guitar and enjoys jamming with his bands – including the one and only POWER BAND. He is an avid runner and rock climber. His awesome mom wrote this bio.
